The Importance of Generalization in AI
Chad: Historically back in the 60s and 70s that's what you kind of wanted to do in AI was create some something that roughly mimicked what a human can do when they're thinking with their brain consciousness. That whole effort failed so there was this AI winter it's called where kind of interest and development in AI was much lower. Now we're starting to hear people talking seriously about artificial general intelligence, he says. Chad: I think Lex Friedman in particular was very valuable in getting people talking in this direction as well.
