According to wiktionary.org, there are three different definitions. The first one it's: to lose one's temper I'll of course it's idiomatic and vulgar.
So be careful when using these expression, the second one is to have a sudden burst of emotion, regardless of the type of feeling. And the third one is to break down in laugher.
Lockdown Okay. The contrary (antonym) to lose one shit would be to hold it together. So please guys always hold it together, please. They took me off my hormones. What why is saying it's liver damage? It's bullshit. They just don't want to be liable. Oh, I'm sorry, baby. I'm losing my shit, crystal. I don't want to have to ask you. I don't know what else to do.
So this was an excerpt from the series from Netflix. Orange is the new black well, apparently the inmates have a lot of reasons to lose their shit because I came across these expressions several times in that series. And the next piece of audio I'm going to show you is really great. You can literally feel how the inmate, the one woman is, is not really holding it together.
And she's calling her friend or husband. I'm not quite sure, but. He tries to reassure her, but I'm not quite sure if he is successful. I love you so much. One of my roommates had a massive heart attack when she got here. Okay. You are not allowed to have a heart attack. What did you have for dinner? My folks brought from the palace.
The palace dinner here is scary liver. I insulted the chef and. You're not supposed to eat pudding cause it's been to desert storm by Burleson. To me, you cannot wash your shit. Okay. I mean it, please, please tell me, you're keeping it together, please. Please tell me you're okay. Wrap it up. Chairman. I'm Chapman here.
You're my pipes. Okay. And, uh, I love you, and this is only temporary. That's what you'll get Johnson, but it's just been one day and I can't, I can't Piper. You can, you so can. Okay. You, you, you. Are so strong Bayview and you love adventure, right? That's what got you in there. And that's, that's, what's going to get you through.
It's all just a big adventure with liver and yogurt Jones and, and, and racism. You can come on Friday, please come. And Freddy, tell me mother to come on Saturday and don't tell her that you're coming on Friday. Okay. But some of the synonyms could be. To go crazy or to go nuts, to freak out, to run wild, to go berserk, to go mantle, lose it, or to lose your control, to lose your temper, to, to fly off the handle.
Well, there are a lots of different expressions as there are different definitions for, to lose one's shit. But just to give you an idea, some synonyms.

I mean this expression, maybe vulgar, but. I mean, it's part of the language. And even if you don't want to use it, ideally it's good to at least understand it.
