The Importance of Protagoras

Protagoras was a teacher of rhetoric, grammar and pedagogy in Athens. He became close friends with many famous figures such as Euripides or Pericles. Very few fragments of Protagoras' works have been preserved though. In 444 BC he assigned to his father the task of framing laws for Thuri - a panhellenic colony in southern Italy.
