Napoleon's Triumph in the Battle of Homsburg
The austrian army at olm surrendered on october twentieth, 18 o five. Several thousand of mach's troops were able to slip out of the encirclement and find their way back to hopsburg lines. The french had also taken a huge number of austrian weapons and all of ma's supply depots,. food equipment and ammunition that was supposed to last a 70 thousand man army for months. After the surrender, napoleon wrote an official bulletin to the grand arme congratulating the men on a well fought campaign. It concluded, never before have victories been so complete or less costly. This type of operation was more or less unheard of in the slow, deliberate style of warfare waged
