What Is Spekulative?
Daniel Taylor: The word speculative is usually used to mean something that's not certain. We talk about, well, I'm just speculating here; it usually means I have no solid ground to stand on. But in the prima pars, question one, St. Thomas says that theology,. saccharodactrina is primarily speculative. So we wanna see things as they are and ultimately see God again with the mind. What does that mean? Well, principally knowledge. And what do we mean by knowledge? We mean knowledge of things through their causes. Finally, we wanna know why things are.
