Most middle class families pay about 13 % of their household income to child care costs. The average child care worker is making about 12 dollars an hour, equates about 24 thousand dollars a year. We are one of the few countries in the world that does not provide a child or family allowance and a monthly stipend to help offset the incredible costs of having dren and raising children. i think there's been an growing recognition throughout the pandemic that this is also an economic crisis for our country, but it's also a democratic crisis, a crisis of democracy.
