The Maud Review: A Blueprint for the Next Government
The Maud Review was commissioned a year ago to look at how the civil service could be reformed. Francis Maud has put his proposals into the cabinet office, which will publish them in due course. He's got some quite interesting ideas, including splitting the cabinet secretary from their role as head of the civil service. And even if it isn't enacted before the election by this government, he's rather gifted a blueprint to the next government - whoever they may happen to be.
