How did bacteria arrive on earth? Some people believe that theo the minerals that were around in the early earth were sort of a perfect tem plate for other molecules to come together. There is an active field of research understand not only how how did replicating molecules come about, but also how cells came about. And i think it's a matter of time before someone actually, in the laboratory, under the right conditions, simulates the early earth and gets some sort of replicating molecule out of it. That'uld be a really fabulous discovery.
