Annette Lee's parents both emigrated from China and met in the US in the 1960s. Her father got his PhD in organic chemistry and took a job at DuPont. She says her dad just didn't think his kids had much natural talent. Annette became a doctor, a reproductive endocrinologist in private practice in Pennsylvania. But their dad's whole genius stick stayed with her.
