Are We Increasing the Probability of a Pandemic?

We're more susceptible to pandemics than we were previous periods of history. We are doing certain things as a species right now which are making the chances of a truly devastating pandemic much more probable. The other thing that's going on is misguided scientific experimentation, where you deliberately boost the infectiousness or virulence of a virus through various kinds of recombatant arona experimentation. And even if you think the chance of its happening is like one in a hundred thousand, are you really to take the bet of a hundred thousand one odds with human extinction being what happens if it comes out?
