How Did You Decide to Make the Film?

When the discussion of the film first started, there seemed to be some type of controversy going on about how Malcolm was depicted in the movie. Dr. Shabazz: I think we're very accurate. At the same time, this is not a documentary film. This is a dramatic film. So we did take some artistic license in the film. The PBS home video Eyes on the Prize is a fascinating, authentic look at a time that we cannot afford to forget.
