The Paradox of Silence
The idea of the state not having to silence people in the moment, but disrupting a movement by noise reminded me of the protests in Hong Kong. Another parallel that I draw in the book is to the standing man in Turkey. On the one hand, it's kind of a great demonstration of this parasitic idea that the state tries to silence you,. But on the other hand, if your solution is to adopt silence as a strategy, then it does seem to play into the hands of those who are oppressing you. So yes, it's, yeah.
