Gomes says Matthew fares a little better when placed in hearts, hands. It too is nearly impenetrable. He tells us Jesus words here should not be received as anything other than an intentionally heterogeneous, fantasmagory meant as much to disorient as to instruct. Yeah, again, it's nice that he takes these phrases out of their context. Gomes fails to note that I give examples of the way in which the imagery the Christ uses is not consistent. And it's not consistent because he's not giving us propositions about the final state of all things.
