The best heuristic is our business questions that are important to the business, they're important meaning they keep coming up and they just linger. They never disappear on their own because they need an answer. These guys keep piling up and the answers correspondingly don't then go find a data person. I guess that's another interesting topic to dig into is, are there any useful questions for people here?

Building a data team is hard in any circumstance, but at a startup it can be even more challenging. The requirements are fluid, you probably don't have a lot of existing data talent to manage the hiring and onboarding, and there is a need to move fast.
