The idea being that russia has historically, been, in a sense, a great power for a long time. And then after the cold war, they, you know, as people do who are accustomed to a certain amount of res they wanted respect. It's all based on a kind of resentment for not getting back the respect that that the sobiet union was given. They were giving that andtajust it was not enough for them.
