The Autonomic Nervous System and Depression

The parasympathetic nervous system is the most people think of as the rest and digest or the kind of calming side of the autonomic nervous system. When you're asleep, it's for a lot of calmness and when you're panicking, it's a lot of alertness to the anxiety that might be going on in your body. But depression is sort of a lack of control over inner state so that when I'm stressed, I can't get myself out of it. In some studies, if you do the same identical stimulation on the right door slateral, you can get an acceleration.
