Are US Policies on Research Security Counterproductive?
The tariffs don't seem to be moving the needle in terms of China's economic practices that we, you know, continue to find objectionable. Another area where I'm very concerned is the efforts to protect research security and look at all potential students and scholars as potential spies. A survey by the American Physical Society found that something like 40% of international scientists are early career graduate students here in the United States.
