The Debt Limit in the US
Right now, the debt limit in the US is $31.4 trillion. So they need to take on debt to be able to service that. Since January of this year, Treasury have been moving money around to make sure everybody gets paid when the bills come due. They're just shuffling money around. There was really a solution that needed to be found by this date or else the US starts having to choose who doesn't get paid.
