The French Military's Role in the Central African Republic
France seems very aware of the shaky ground beneath their feet knowing that they need to make concessions in Africa and possibly even see their privileged colonial dividends. Pulling French forces out may mean handing over the reins to Russia and the Wagner group who not only have a somewhat unglamorous track record in places like Mozambique where they've gone in, made things worse and then handed it back to government forces.
