The Battle of San Juan De Ulua

Hawkins and Drake barely escaped the attack called the Battle of San Juan de Ulua. The English felt that the attack was not justified and would carry a weight of bad feeling towards the Spanish afterwards. It was in the aftermath of this incident that Queen Elizabeth I of England would oversee the validation of privateers conducting piracy against the Spanish.
