The Importance of Gravitational Waves

Gravitational waves are not a wave like a wave in water, though they have a lot of similar mathematical properties. And so gravitational waves are like ripples through space where things get closer together and further apart,. Like space itself is oscillating. We covered this experiment on the podcast a few years ago when they had very preliminary data that didn't have yet conclusive results. But we were very excited to hear what they were going to have to say in a few years.
