Some theories are like the multiverse, where every decision you make could have been made and then in the universe splits off from then. He doesn't believe that's there but he does see some accidents in the universe that make us kind of support that theory. And beyond that is they talk about alien life. Why haven't we heard from alien life? Well, there could be two fucking far away. But if they have been around long enough, how much longer would it take us to be like these? How long they'd be watching us to realise that they don't want to be friends? That might be it.
