CHAPTER

The Lost Books of the Stoics

There's not much indication that Marcus Aurelius had really read his philosophical writings. He may have read political speeches by him we don't know exactly what but he never managed to Seneca anywhere in the meditations. Sometimes one of them like Marcus is quoting Epictetus and we don't realize it or it may be that they're drawing on some of the books that I'll just completely lost to. There are badly damaged scrolls that are unreadable that contains some some Greek philosophical texts that maybe one day technology will allow us to read. We've probably exhausted most of what we're going to find you know maybe maybe we'll be lucky and some other things will turn up in the future
