The Failure of Journalism to Recognize Bad Things
I don't know personally whether things are getting better, but we're exposing more of the bad stuff, or they're getting worse. And if you look at say something like police shootings in America, which haven't significantly increased, actually it's just that we are only now paying attention to what black people have been living with for years. It's not like in America journalists didn't know that black people were being shot dead by the police, but they kind of assumed there must have been something wrong. I mean, Rwanda, that's new, you know, Windrush felt new.
