The Importance of Resilience

I'm constantly struggling with how to push my boys a little outside their comfort zones, but not so far outside that they then retreat back again. The hardest thing I find as a dad is building resilience because obviously you can try throwing them in the deep end,. If that goes badly then you haven't built resilience, you've built fragility. In a world of uncertainty that seems like it'll always be a judgement call. And I make so many mistakes as a dad. But I'm a more conscious dad I think than I was 12 years ago when I started the job.
