The Importance of Iron for Aging

Iron is a necessary nutrient. Every living thing, you know, needs iron to survive. In theory, if someone is perfectly metabolically healthy, their iron regulation will be also, also perfect. When people are metabolically unhealthy, that doesn't happen. And they keep absorbing iron until it gets quite high in their body. Their body iron stores become high um and so there there so men in particular, can accumulate live iron. Men at that age have much higher rates of hard tax and cancer and so on than women. So keeping iron stores in a low, normal range appears to be a good practice for fighting aging.
