What's the Difference Between Rationalism and Empiricism?
In chapter three, mau is discussing dogmatism. He says that the reason the dogmatist and empiricist comrades in china have made mistakes lies precisely in their subjectivist, one sided way of looking at things. In contrast to this, you can have epistemological possessors like locke who are a little more confident about the kind of knowledge we can get from our experience. The problem with empirical thought is that it doesn't grasp all the many, complicated moves that are involved in creating knowledge for humans.
