How to Manage Chronic Anticoagulation for Atrial Fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained arrhythmia worldwide. It increases with age one in four people will have it during their lives. Anticoagulation is recommended for most people because of the risk of stroke and systemic embolism from the clot that can form when the atrium is not keeping blood flowing regularly. The preferred score to figure out if a patient should be anticoagulated is now the Chads VASK score.
