The resting membrane potential is the charge difference across the membrane. This isn't a charge difference everywhere outside the cell and everywhere inside the cell. It's simply in that very small area, nanometers, picometers across that membrane. Now we've got to talk about how do we stimulate or inhibit a neuron from sending a signal? And this is where we now need to talk about things called graded potentials. Does that make sense? Yeah, it does.
In this episode, Dr Matt and Dr Mike discuss how the nervous system allows us to walk, talk, smell, taste, hear, and feel!
This episode is about the electrical and chemical signals that the body sends called action potentials!
