The Effect of Selection on Ecology

In the experiment, we introduced one milliliter of pond water into 30 test tubes. We incubate them in a constant environment for four days and measure things such as their pH. And do you know we found variation? They varied after only four days. The reason it's possible is because sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Each one of these ecosystems were actually very complex systems. As we know from the butterfly effect, small differences don't remain small. They become the seeds for larger differences.
