The Conflicting Reports on Slavery in the Hebrew Bible

In Exodus 21, it says in verse seven that if a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as the male servants do. But when you get to passages like Deuteronomy 15, there's sort of a debate as to whether this particular law is being updated. So certainly the slavery that's being assumed in Exodus 21 is not just a regular household slavery. She's being taken for sexual purposes and may be envisioning something else here.
