The Effect of the Solar Wind on Mars

Carly Shortino: Mars used to have an atmosphere, and we're now pretty sure that there's ice on Mars. She says the conditions for life could have been much different on Mars a long time ago. The same kind of effect that I mentioned earlier about the strong period of solar activity we're going through is devastating to the Martian atmosphere because like Venus, it doesn't have much of a magnetic field.
