How Do We Learn to Speak English?

Yossianne White is a socio-linguist at University College Utrecht in the Netherlands. She studies how accents change. We basically learn a set of sounds when we're a baby and then if we try to learn a second language later on we kind of have to make do with the sounds that we've got. Just like learning to play an instrument such as the flute we have to practice moving our mouths into the right shapes to make the sounds that form speech.
