I was in M&A for 25 years and I got very interested in understanding better change. When our CEO asked me to move to San Francisco from London seven years ago, I promised myself to go down that rabbit hole. So I did a lot of courses around complexity and system thinking with Santa Fe Institute. And after kind of a year or two singularity university, the penny dropped. It wasn't just alignment into the values and purpose. It was literally, I didn't feel that the way business leaders, organizations were driving their strategy was consistent with the reality of our complex and predictable non-linear world.
