In January 1982, there was another Fostein leak. Twenty-four workers were exposed and had to be admitted to the hospital. None of the workers had been ordered to wear protective masks. The trade union went on strike and distributed posters throughout the community. UC staff continued to call the plant safe and dismiss them as disgruntled workers.
