Rand regarded herself as a kind of a highbrow intellectual philosopher and her philosophy was called objectivism. She romanticized the individual thinker and the ability to make decisions on the basis of rational thought. But that movement became a really a cult surrounding her, sort of a parody of what people checking their premises might ever be.
