The True Meaning of the Word Discipline Isn't to Punish

Most of the time we are judges. We're handing down punishments after something bad happens, that results in shame and frustration for our children. Their needs still going unmet and the behaviour continuing. So what do we do with these kids when they have bad behaviour, but we're not supposed to punish it? That brings us to step too step too, is to try your best to be a detective instead of a judge.
