Mick ronson's string arrangement is just soaring. I love this chord progression, especially the turn around. The cords are similar to over the rainbow, but a little bit different. A star man goes from f major to d minor. Then it does a walk down that's very similar to the one in space Oddity. They combine so many different bowy ideas into something that just works perfectly and acts as a perfect set up to the next section.
