Gray: Neokelvanism is a kind of pilgrim theology that allows you to be unsurprised when there's other forces at play in government over you because this is the Arab common grace and it allows you to as well be conversant with those powers. In Indonesia where much of public life is controlled by or animated by Islamic principles and Islamic piety so it's very hard to have a Christian governor or publicly Christian governor to get elected in the city of Jakarta for instance. So I can't imagine saying to the Muslim public in Jakarta that religion's just kept to yourself you know it's just not in their intuition, says Gray.
