The Importance of Rootedness
We can't re-import, re-create the gods and so forth, we have to have the equivalent sense of the world as alive. That's what rootedness means. It means this very strong sense that this is where you belong,. This is where you are. I've seen it in a Spanish village near Gujoloca - people know everything about each other. And some of you probably are familiar with your own background as rooted. Like Dave Mitra comes from the northeast. You often talk about your sort of engagement with that northeast. It's had a very powerful effect upon you. Probably the moon, I think.
