There's definitely a common thread between these two stories and that you have kind of local police detectives who kind of stumble into a crime scene where in fact they are just absolutely not equal to contending with international forces. That was very much a big theme in the work I did on Russian assassinations in Britain and we had plenty of intelligence sources here were saying you know the government does not want these cases investigated We don't want to antagonize Russia but actually it was very difficult to get any of those small town cops to say yes our investigation was squashed.
