The History of the Hirama Attacks

The attack on Guadalajara was never achieved, the Valencia Road remained open. There were discussions about resuming the attack in early March but it was decided that troops near the Hirama were simply not capable of mounting further efforts. Franco still wanted to capture and isolate the capital, and there was also pressure coming from the Italians to have their troops where the CTV used in an attack. The initial plan had been to launch the Italian attack simultaneously with the one on Geroma, but due to the Italian delays, the attack in the south would occur unsupported.
