If you can replicate each individual human with machines, you can do the same thing much cheaper. Once we could make machines going as fast as us, before long, we could go way faster than us. We should expect once we can make machines a little bit smarter than us, it's pretty plausible that soon we can made machines way smarter than us. It's always been latent in nature. Nature has dramatically more compute power than we've talked to.
