The Importance of Reconciliation
In any first century Jew, I'm hearing this, would have thought immediately of the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis. And Jesus is saying we have to deal with this root problem in the human condition. He's saying that your relationship with God is tied up with your relationship with other people like it or not. So how I treat my lovely wife, as most of you know is sick right now, how I treat her has a direct line of effect on my prayers. It could be that you're not at peace with somebody, in particular a brother or a sister. And therefore you're notat peace with God. There's no way around that. My relationship with tea is tied
