The Moral Development That Made Lincoln Do It
Doris Lincoln had a wall that was all Lincoln and clearly had read every word of every one of those books. My interest was more about the moral development that led this practical politician to make a moral stand in the political arena when it was not an obvious thing to do. The lesson for us has to be, are we willing to sacrifice a certain amount of immediate self-interest in order to keep this experiment going? Yeah.
