The CIA's Support for the 1959 Tibetan Uprising
In 1959, Tibetans are seeking a renewed reputation after rebellions in Amdo and Combe. They pressure the Dalai Lama to attend a whole host of holiday festivals for basically public relations reasons. This all ends up leading to calls for outright independence and lassa. A non-violent demonstration during this period of time breaks out led by Pamo Cusan or Her Gerteng Kunsong. One of those sell out llamas was called Pabala Soyna and Yanko.
