The Importance of Mentorship
As a young girl newly you know newly arrived in North America the people that I gravitated towards to guide me were my female teachers and mother figures. But when she moved to New York City there was no built-in system of people of that community who could help her out. She found mentorship elsewhere but it wasn't as readily available with companies which are very heavily male dominated. "I'm like skipping to work the day I meet with them because I'm so excited"
