I've been in the private equity business for 21 years now. My job is to be a bridge there to ensure that the seller understands the process, at least the best that they can from the other side's perspective. And then conversely, I'm helping the private equity firm navigate their way through sometimes what can be kind of an archaic mom and pop situation. So many times when deals don't happen, it's either through the communication strand gets busted and one side misreads the other side or doesn't deliver on something that the other side was hoping that they would deliver on.
