So many of us suffer from this joan i call the jonah complex. We want to see nineveh burn both because it will satisfy our thirst for vengeance, which we self delusionly call justice. And also because we want to feel like doggonit, i got first place. Not this shmuck who didn't do his own teaching. The idea that eventually everybody might conceivably make it back to god's presence was so infuriating and disanimating to many early saints.
