The Death of Mary Patterson
Mary Patterson, what we know of her was that she was a young woman in Edinburgh. She had just come from the Edinburgh Magdalene Asylum - which was a cross between a reform school and a rehab for girls who had been led astray. It could simply have been that she was living with a boyfriend and they had broken up. In the 21st century it's very likely to have happened the other way because she was probably a maid of all work. And any man of any age just regarded maids as a fair game. But we don't know. If there was anything sexual, what we do know is that she was dismissed. What we do know again to pick up Mary
